Because so few local events allow for record labels to interact with the music fans in the Bay Area, so we have decided to set one up ourselves. For a couple of hours on a late Sunday morning, over a dozen Bay Area rock/punk/noise/metal/indie labels are bringing music and merchandise to the Absolutely Kosher offices in Emeryville to hang out, meet the public and promote and sell our wares at discounted, wholesale and blowout prices. We'll have bagels and beverages for sale and people are welcome to play pool on our newly donated pool table, listen to some great music and hangout. This is a way for the public to meet the hard-working people around the Bay who struggle to find and invest in great music for your enrichment and enjoyment. It's also a rare opportunity for us to meet and talk with the music loving community in a low-key environment. We hope you can help spread the word, and stop by yourself to check out what’s going on with the Bay Area labels.

Wax Fang has already gotten some very favorable press from the likes of Spin, the BBC, the Onion A.V. Club and FADER.

Yes, the news broke today, though we've known about this for nearly a year now. It's always a bag of mixed emotions when one of our artists leaves us to work with someone else, but we wish it could always happen with the dignity and class that Frog Eyes have shown. We contracted them for two albums way back in 2003 (or was it '04) and we were fortunate enough to release five amazing albums and a single together. It's easy to assume the worst in these situations, but we are extraordinarily proud of the work we've done together and wish the band nothing but the best.
If you're in (or near) New York City and want to help a good cause, The Wrens are performing as part of a star-studded lineup of bands, and other celebrities to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
It's at the Bell House in New York City this coming Wednesday, January 27th, at 6pm.
Additionally, Charles Blissell from the Wrens will be playing with the New Pornographers' A.C. Newman, the Old '97s' Rhett Miller, and Nicole Atkins as a Seekers Cover Band.
Come out and help support this great effort! All proceeds will be split between Save the Children and Partners in Health.
In our ever continuing effort to give you great music, and great service, we have now partnered with iTunes to serve you up all of our releases digitally!
You can now find links on each artist's page to all of their releases in iTunes, where you can buy and download them at your convenience!
